In this project I wanted to use photographs taken in Iceland to directly illustrate the expectations that are manufactured and sold to people falsely and the effect they have.
The exaggeration of landscape photography for commercial use is well known, however, I do not think people are aware how excessive and unnecessary the process is. My strong belief is that images of nature should not be altered or edited at all because it diminishes the true and pure beauty of the world. In addition, the subconscious expectations created by such manipulation leads to disappointment that is out of our control as the presumption that grass is always green and sky is always blue is unrealistic and has a negative impact on how we view the world
