As an artist I believe that my work has to evoke an emotional connection with the audience.

Choosing to capture the movement of dance in a still image was a challenge I enjoyed taking on as I discovered a technique called stroboscopic photography, which captures movement in all its detail, a RAW, still image filled with life. 

The aim of this selection of images is to transport the viewer through each decade of the 20th century showcasing the signature dance moves and fashion in each time period. I was able to achieve a more authentic impression of each time period within the images as the result of my fascination with fashion, the dance sequences captured are established in their respectful time periods by the use of historically inspired clothing.
